Enjoy a public lecture presenting new scenes from « Les Femmes d’en-haut » ("The Women Above") performed by Théâtre du Rêve of Atlanta , the only French-speaking theatre company in the US at the Alliance Theatre.
This is a wonderful opportunity to see a play in production. Guest director Olivier Kemeid will work with four actors from Chicago, Quebec and Théâtre du Rêve. French comedians will also perform.
A reception to meet the artists follows at the Alliance Française in Midtown after the lecture.
Olivier Kemeid was born in Montreal and is an accomplished author, an actor and stage director. Artistic assistant at the Théâtre du Trident in Quebec for one year, and after that scriptwriter since 2002 for Téléfiction (Montreal), stage co-director and creative writer of the international Cabaret Libre of Montreal for the 2003-2004 season, Olivier Kemeid is also one of the founding members of the Compagnie des "Trois Tristes Tigres". Since 2007, he is the artistic director of the Théâtre Espace Libre.
Olivier Kemed will also participate in a training workshop for French teachers and students on ways to incorporate live theater into French and drama classes during French Immersion Day on Saturday, March 24.
